Somebody on Tumblr came up with the idea recently of there being some sort of GazettE get-together for North American fans. I think that is a fantastic idea. The fandom needs something like that – I think a lot of us feel disconnected, now that most of the fandom lives on the very impersonal Tumblr. There also haven’t been many opportunities for us to meet up and hang out at cons and the like, since most anime cons (at least the ones I go to) have dropped their J-rock programming.

I don’t think we’re looking at a full con here – what we’d be looking at is a regional get-together (one for East Coast, one for West Coast, etc.) with fans renting a few hotel rooms for the weekend and spending the time just hanging out and watching videos – maybe going out together to a Japanese restaurant one night. (There’s a Japanese shopping complex just south of New York City which has a food court that would be perfect for this sort of thing as long as there’s a few people with cars). Pretty much a weekend-long party. We could keep room costs down by putting four or more people in a room, depending on how much they can hold.

After I get back from Germany, I would be interested in helping organize such a thing for the East Coast in 2014. The question is, how much interest would there be, would it be GazettE-only or would it also cover other bands (either general J-rock or PSC only) and what time of year would be best to have it?

I would actually LOVE to do this. This past Sunday, one of the security guards' cell phone ringtone well off and I heard DIM SCENE playing. It caught me off guard so I was more excited than I should have been to find a Sixth Gun at a sci-fi con, but it made me want to find others that liked them. Now, I'm in Georgia so I don't know how a get together would work since I'm still in school and don't have many resources to use to get wherever but that's a really awesome idea!

I was thinking about how wonderful it would be to meet some North American Sixth Guns! I'm also in school so it would be a bit difficult for me, but I'm sure I can manage it somehow! And by the shopping complex...are you talking about Mitsuwa? I live extremely close to the place :D and considering how scattered we all are it may be good to consider inviting PSC fans...we just need to find out how many there are and how many are able to attend...

That sounds like a lot of fun. Im on west coast, so i couldnt join you, but it would be cool. I think it shouldnt be limited to Gazette, because most of us like other bands as well.

Me and a few other admins on a facebook page were talking long and hard about this.
While it is a fantastic idea, I proposed maybe an internet get-together first, to see how many really would be up for such a big event, get ideas, and really start planning.
Also there's age to be considered. I would absolutely HATE to exclude any sixthgun out of this, but with an IRL meet-up, I thought it might be safer for it to be an 18+ event, while online, it would obviously be all ages.
I am over 18, but I'm also a parent, and any of the minors' parents would first and foremost take their kids' safety into consideration before allowing them to travel far distances.
Also there's the money for travel. It can get pricey, and the economy downturn has hit many of us hard.
(I am 5 hours drive from Atlanta GA and I want to see DEG SOOO bad, but I simply can't afford to even get there...)

Just my two cents. :)

I would certainly be interested in a get together!!! It would be pretty easy for me to come down to NYC for a few days and I would LOVE an irl meetup (lets host a porn-writing seminar! xD) I think that making it about jrock in general would be a good idea rather than GazettE exclusive, it would make for a variety of attendees and maybe give everyone a chance to maybe discover new bands (and obsessions who knows). Hosting it during the spring might be a good idea (jrock springbreak?) or in the summer when everyone is out of school might be a good bet as well. I'm getting pretty excited over this xD I think its a great idea!

So a secret group has been created for the soul purpose of getting Admins together. For now this is GazettE only, though I LOVE the idea of get-togethers for all J-rock as well!

Right now the admins of the biggest GazettE fanpages on FB are being contacted to join the group for Admins.

From there, we will begin planning an online gathering, then, eventually, a IRl meet-up.

Anyone interested in more detail, drop me a message!! :)

Would love a fan get together, anime north two years ago had a gazette panel to celebrate the decade but it was pathetic. The girl leading the panel was late, was almost canceled and it was mainly me and 4 others talking about why we loved them. Love talking to other fans but don't know any. Am only hardcore fan out of my friends and only other fan I know moved away and we lost touch. I live just outside Toronto Ontario and would be willing to travel to the states for a true fan meet. Pleas keep me posted about this as am very interested!!

Ha, I remember that GazettE panel! I was one of the two people who stepped in to impromptu-lead it after the host failed to show up. I was kind of disappointed there wasn't another one this year - I would have gladly helped out with it. (The entire J-rock track seemed to have disappeared this year. They had a few K-pop panels, but no J-rock).

Really?!?! Which one where you? I was the girl in the front row with the bright pink hair. My friend was the guy who stepped in. I got miseinen tattooed on my inner arm a week after the convention. I love it. Kinda cool to know we met once.:-)
