So I have today off from work, and I woke up with a huge craving for Mexican food. As in, if I didn't get something with cilantro in it by the end of the day, I'd die. Granted, food cravings are nothing unusual for me when I'm a few days before my period - which is what's happening right now.

I spent the morning working on a fanfic about Shou's latest Twitter faux pas - if you haven't heard about it, he meant to upload a full-size version of his new Twitter icon, uploaded a Harry/Draco photomanip instead, and caused the fandom to explode. I peeked in on Tumblr a little, and then decided to check LJ . . .

GazettE World Tour. With the closest show to me being in, you guessed it, Mexico. That is a WEIRD coincidence.

Of course, nothing in the U.S. or Canada. Doesn't surprise me one whit. The only Japanese acts that have played in those countries, other than at cons, are L'arc-en-Ciel and Dir en Grey. Apparently, PSC is asking for too much money for what U.S. promoters consider an unknown band. (Never mind that GazettE would attract a much bigger crowd than some of the Polish and Russian acts that do play in New York, and don't have followings outside the immigrant community).

So, the Mexican thing is doable for me, if I axe my plans for a couple of cons this summer. (Still doing Anime North, since it's the only time I get to see both of my best friends at the same time). Hell, I feel like after everything I've endured since November, I've earned it.

Now, if only on the next go-around, they'd include New York . . . and if only they'd let Alice Nine that far out of the cage, too . . .

Canada has also had Miyavi several times but Gazette would be great!! I'm scrapping Anime North to save up for Mexico city. Hell of a lot cheaper than Japan! :)

It is DEFINITELY cheaper than Japan, and less of a flight! I think from Toronto Pearson, Mexico City would be a 5-6 hour flight - as opposed to the 12 hours it takes to fly to Japan. (Yep, I did it. On the way there, I think I slept most of the time. On the way back, I listened to my entire Alice Nine playlist).

Yeah, I'm almost thinking this non-world tour is a test case for PSC, and if these dates go over well, they'll expand it next time, and bring more bands over - but they may have to drop their asking price to get American promoters interested in them. We'll see.

Poor Shou is NEVER going to live that down. I actually think the real story behind that photo is someone did send it to him as a gag, and that (like in my fanfic) the file had a very similar name to the photo he really wanted. It makes sense, really.

I'm trying to save up for Mexico City, too - I'll be damned if I miss my one shot at seeing these guys! Good luck to you; I think it will be interesting to see how many of us fans here in the States head that way for the day.

Let's put it this way: Mexico City Airport is going to be the most happening place on earth the day before that live. The customs officials are going to wonder about the steady stream of American women suddenly crossing the border all at once.

Ugh seriously? Im in the US but there's no way I can go to Mexico. Is it just me, or is every single person Ive added going?

Well, there's no guarantee we'll all be able to go. There's going to be such a scramble for tickets at the Mexican venue among Americans that probably only half the people who want to go will get in. (Nobody's actually selling the tickets yet - I checked tonight). Ditto the European venues - all the British fans will be trying to get into the French and German shows, etc. Hopefully, if this sells out across the board, both PSC and American concert promoters will get the message!

can you take me to mexico with you? my mom won't let me go D"X it's only a month to get there on foot from my place XD

You know, that explains why they're not playing there; I was so confused at first, but I guess the US don't realise that some Jrock bands would attract a lot of people, especially because I've also heard that Gazette are really expensive (one German promoter apparently turned them down once, because even if every gig sold out, he'd only break even).

I hope you'll manage to see them in Mexico, though! I agree that you deserve to see them. I'll keep my fingers crossed. :)
