Okay, am I missing something here? I saw a bit of Sherlock when I was in California. It was a clever take on the original stories to be sure, and the cast was terrific, but I didn't really think Cumberbatch was entirely All That.

Of course, this may have something to do with the fact that my personal taste runs more toward vocalists and drummers with million-megawatt smiles. ~_^

I have been seeing stuff like that on my reading page here on LJ ever since BBC Sherlock's first episode was aired in the UK. And I still don't get it! I did watch the first season/series, and wasn't all that impressed to be honest. Mostly because it was all a remake of episodes of very well-known cases that I had also just watched the Grenada version of two weeks prior...

But since then, an intense dislike and loathing for this show and for that particular actor has grown inside me. The squee and fangirling over it has a flavour that makes me really really uncomfortable, and when everyone (I am using that word very loosely here LOL) is raving over how gorgeous and beautiful Eggs Benedict Cucumberpatch is, while I find him utterly repulsive and buttfuck ugly (to put it mildly), I just get the shudders. :(

I guess I come across as just as crazycakes to these people whenever I start waxing (LOL) poetically over Uruha's thighs. *g* But yeah... Different tastes. Still, even the crazy Avengers and Hiddleston fangirling hasn't quite reached the same level of discomfort to me.

Um... I may have strong anti-feels for Teh Cucumber? (I especially get the ICK!!!! whenever I see someone refer to him as "La Batch"!)

Gomen m(_ _)m

No need to apologize for ranting! The behavior of some of those fans seems rant-worthy - someone posted a sampling of quotes from Cumberbots in the comments of the article, and some of them were headdesk-worthy. I think it's the degree of "He can do NO WRONG!" worship - they consider him hotter than a Greek god and a better actor than Olivier and DeNiro put together. Now, we may engage in blatant Gazeworship (and, yes, Uruha's thighs are worship-worthy), but we also have clear enough sight to know that the boys sometimes fall on their faces and produce clunkers. (For instance, the way you reacted to Division's Nintendofest). We also make jokes about their shortcomings (Ruklish, anyone?). But the Cumberbots? They think that everything the man does is PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT and the whole world should see him that way. I think that's what's bugging me about them.

Yes, I think it's exactly that attitude of no wrong-doing and absolute perfectness (which is so over-the-top) and also being so... loud about it, that feeds the loathing. I will NEVER EVER again watch ANYTHING that that man is cast in. EVER! lol (And thank you for letting me get this off my chest. I can't exactly do it in my own LJ, or be rapidly defriended by at least 10 people! *g*)

Also: LMAO @ "Division's Nintendofest"! :D That was just too funny, and a great description. *giggles* I do love Yoin to bits though, and have probably played it almost 50 times by now. :D

I think I need more Gazepeople and more Gazesquee on my flists! :D (And I should probably go write Aoi a hot orgasm, as that is almost the only thing not yet written in this story....)

You do not want to know my opinion of Mr. Cucumberpatch. Let's just say I find him something of a sore point and Sherlock makes me want to throw things at the screen. -_-;

I love Sherlock and I do find Cumberbatch attractive (but only as Sherlock, for some reason), but I don't think he's that fantastic. Strangely enough I have many Sherlock and Benedict lovers on my f-list, but none of them are like that. *scratches head* Mind you, I inspected their LJ profiles carefully before adding them, so perhaps I weeded out the creepy ones. XD
