OMEGA SQUEEING!!! Yes, I finally, finally got a chance to watch it tonight, since RL kept me from watching it until now. It. Was. AMAZING. Just incredible. You really don't get the entire picture of what GazettE is about just from listening to their recordings, they only truly come ALIVE when you see them in action. (Maybe that's why one friend of mine, whose taste I otherwise trust without question, can't understand my devotion to the Gazemen. She's never seen one of their live videos).

The first disc was all about Ruki. I couldn't take my eyes off him beginning to end, he was absolutely mesmerizing. There were points where he was using his entire body to convey the song - at one point, he was doing this sort of snake charmer dance and his hands didn't stop moving until the very last note. The performance of 13 Stairs had to have been the strongest I've ever heard - better than the actual version on DIM, IMHO - so I'm not at all surprised that Shou showered it with praise when he watched the DVD.

Oh, and My Devil on the Bed more than lived up to its billing. Two words - CANE LICKING. That was the first time a concert video literally made me moan and squirm.

Disc Two, I finally paid more attention to the other boys, mainly because Kai in glasses is the MOST. ADORABLE. THING. EVER. He needs to wear them more often. And Uruha's white outfit was damn sexy. Plus, they SO ARRIVED AT THE ARENA TOGETHER. Some people on the uruai community had spotted that, and I'd wondered if it was wishful thinking. IT ISN'T. Plus, there was the two of them doing the little impromptu duet backstage, Uruha planing and Kai drumming on the chair and the table . . .

Meanwhile, I'm getting ready to go to a con in a few days, plus I've launched a collaboration fic with the lovely and talented aleksiina_26 - the first chapter, which she wrote, is here: http://aleksiina-26.livejournal.com/18027.html I'm working on chapter 2 - it's been written, but still needs to be edited, and will most likely be posted when I return after next weekend. It's sort of a fantasy mid-quel to the second story in the Stargazer series - Starlight: The Glittering Sea of the Night Sky - where Shou is in denial about his feelings for Hiroto just before their Budokan show. Take one boy in denial of his true love, add a bit of Lewis Carroll and a lot of manporn, and the results are . . . well, I hope enjoyable!

BTW, in case you missed it, my inaugural smut on my new netbook was posted last weekend and is here: http://red-scales.livejournal.com/1783.html

I've watched it about 10 times and I still can't get enough. And I was even THERE. It's a great DVD though and everytime I watch it and wish that I could go back to that night >.< I was actually a huge fan of Headache Man and My Devil on the Bed. Though, the cane-licking was rather nice the pelvic thrusting towards the crowd defs helped it along.

I agree, Kai with glasses=me dying of giggle fits. I thought it was funny when Aoi was trying to walk around in his skirt from the RR outfit, but because he isn't used to walking around in skirts, it looks more like he's waddling XD

Okay, I need to watch it again to catch the waddling. It sounds amusing as hell. You're so lucky to have been there! How close was the DVD to the actual show? I heard that the very last song was cut for technical issues - were there any other cuts that you know of? It seems odd Hyena wasn't in the show as presented on the disc, when live reports from other stops on the Venomous Cell tour indicated it was part of the show. (It also seems strange that there's no Ruki/Uruha fanservice. I think that's a first).

I don't remember what song it's really noticable, but I'm sure you can find it. Yeah, I'm really sad Kantou was cut. But ALOT of stuff happened that I can understand tehy wouldn't want in the DVD. During Kantou, Ruki jumped into the centerstage and walked around. There was a lot of groapage. And he also went over one of the rails and more groapage ensued. Also, Aoi went over one of the rails and girls tried to pull him in. All in all, Kantou was both exciting and frightening XD

I was sad that they didn't play Red even though they played the entirety of the Toxic album.

Actually, several songs on Toxic didn't make the show, or at least the DVD - Red, Pledge and Shiver, the ones that had been singles beforehand (they were all in the Tokyo Dome show, weren't they?) However, they did do Vermin, which was the B-side of Red.

Sounds like a logical reason for Kantou not to be on the disc, then. But yikes, it sounds like the guys were flirting with disaster at a couple of points there. It's a lucky thing that nobody got hurt!

Oh yeah you have a point; regardless, I was just happy to see them live finally. And the Decade had a lot of songs that I wanted to hear anyways, so that made up for it haha.

And as much as I love Kantou ,it probably was in the best interest taht it wasn't on the DVD. I think they might have used footage from the one we did in the Decade for the documentary, but I'm not sure.

Ugh, I'm so jealous! I'm still waiting for my copy, and while I have it downloaded... I kind of don't want to watch it all the way through yet? Is that odd? I've seen bits (hellloooo My Devil :D), but I'd rather save the full thing for when I can see it on a big screen. *sigh* Soon! I hope. XD

I have watched Disc 3 many, many times though. ;) I'm dying to know what Uruha was teasing Kai about!

No, it's not odd. You want to experience it as it was meant to be experienced. I didn't watch it on a big screen - I watched it on my laptop - but since it was from the DVD, it definitely provided a clearer picture than a fan rip would.

That scene is why I wish someone would subtitle the thing! I want to know what they were saying to each other! Some things need no translation (like Ruki borrowing Uruha's guitar, proving that yes, he CAN play more than that bridge part of Cassis) but the conversations between the boys? Yeah, definitely need help there.

It's so amazing!!!! :D *squees with you* And I agree, watching a live is probably what cements that feeling of AMAZING! in a person. I just liked them a lot, until I managed to DL a rip of RCE, and then I was all "O.O omg! I want to be there! *gasp for breath*" LOL

First disc is definitely a lot of Ruki, but my eyes were constantly drawn to Uruha and his swishy trousers and his hands, oh my god, his hands!!! *melts*

First time I saw it I wasn't sure I could love this version of 13Stairs, actually. I kind of missed things... But on a second watch (I managed to grab an ISO file!!! Took forever, though.) I do love it, mostly for the brilliance that is Uruha and his guitar. And Kai. As for Kai... He really makes me insides shiver and want at the beginning of My Devil. That drum and bass sound is just soooooooo unf!!!

It amuses me that so many people mention Kai's glasses. I mean, he's cute in them, but I think they completely remove the hotness factor. I guess I'm just not a megane-girl?

But yes, no wishful thinking!!! They did arrive together! \o/ How else would Uruha manage to be on time in the morning? Kai has to wake up up with tender kisses and a blowjob! *g*

I'm sure I'll have more squee over the DVD later. LOL I need to watch it again. 1 1/12 times isn't enough! :D

Kai's glasses, at least to me, fall under the category of "cuddly-cute Kai" instead of "steamy hot Kai." The latter occurs in the scene during the encore where you have a lovely shot from the rear of a sweat-drenched Kai, arm muscles rippling, leaning back in one of his drumgasm moments. I was thinking (once I regained the power of linear thought) that I have just witnessed what that man looks like at the moment of climax. (I even scanned the stage to see iif I could confirm Uruha's whereabouts. What was that theory about him hiding behind Kai's bass drum? XD)
